How to Set Line Preferences for your Bid
Overview
In SmartPref PBS Line Preferences are those days and trip search features that are not specifically trip related but specify overall conditions that you wish to associate with your line. These conditions are viewed as most important by Smartpref's logic and as such you should be aware that they will have an impact on your entire bid. This makes it easy to set the guidelines for your line that are important to you, but make sure to consider the effect of your Line Preferences on the results. Remember that SmartPref allows you to experiment and customize your line with Line Preferences.

Line Options

Commute - A very powerful Line Preference because it strives to reduce the number of commutes to a base but at the possible cost of some desired trip criteria (i.e. layovers, line value, etc.). Also automatically will try for fewest hotel/crash pad nights at base.
Avoid single day off - No single day off between work blocks or even a single trip.
Avoid single work day – Do not place a one day trip or a one day training event in the middle of a period of days off.
Waive circadian limits - Allows adjacent duty periods, that may conflict with keeping to the same or similar circadian pattern, to be awarded.
Exclude training credit - Will not add the credit given to training events to your line value.
No trip substitution allowed - SmartPref will award trips in the exact order you have chosen them under your Trip Preferences selections. You forfeit the SmartPref substitution logic which may build a more satisfactory line.
Show all trips - Displays all the trips, including those already taken senior, when you search for selected trips. The trips that conflict with absences will not be shown.
